The Arnoldrenderer team is pleased to announce the availability of Arnold (C4DtoA) 2.6.0 for Cinema4D. This version uses the Arnold 126.96.36.199 core, and it includes the beta version of Arnold GPU. 2.6.0 - Release Date June 26, 2019 FEATURES - Added isolate selected feature to the IPR window - Added render text overlay settings - Added clip_geo shader which clips out all geometry against the shapes it has been assigned to. Users can limit the objects that are affected with trace sets, and optionally choose a specific shader for the intersection surfaces. Self-intersecting geometry or intersecting clipping objects can cause artifacts. - Added AOV read shaders which let you access built-in AOVs in the AOV shader context or custom AOVs in the regular shading context. - Autodesk analytics program: Arnold can now optionally send anonymous statistics data back to Autodesk for analysis, which helps optimizing Arnold for the commonly used workflows and systems. For the moment this is only available for OSX and disabled by default (opted-out). This service can be enabled (opted-in) through the kick -ADP flag, or through other Autodesk applications that support this, such as Maya and 3ds Max. ENHANCEMENTS - Added IPR snapshot name and text overlay settings - Added RGBA channel selector combo box to the IPR window toolbar - Select IPR debug shading mode from the toolbar - Improved IPR window side panel controls - Added pixel information side panel to the IPR window - Added support for Look at Camera tag in the IPR - Configure shortcut of the node search dialog in the network editor - Added support for scene length units - List content of a procedural - Define folders on the Arnold Procedural Assets tab - Added layering to the alembic procedural - Improved set_parameter operator UI - Added transform mode to the set_parameter operator UI - Improved set_transform operator UI - Disable assignment expressions in the set_parameter operator - Show available terminal nodes in the targets for include_graph operator FIXES - IPR crash with light instances and light linking - IPR crash with light instances and mesh lights - Bad IPR performance when translating heavy objects - Crash when clicking on debug shading before starting the IPR - Can't edit IPR Zoom parameter when IPR is off - Incorrect motion blur with xpGenerator and particles with limited lifespan - Network editor shader tree does not open while searching shaders - Subdivision is not baked when device is set to GPU - Can not select output channels of an OSL node - No Arnold tag on a camera created as a child of an object - Can not control placement of newly created Arnold lights and drivers - Driver path sometimes fails to update when switching selection between two driver objects Arnold for Cinema4D (C4DtoA) supports most Cinema 4D features such as instances, cloners, deformers, generators, MoGraph geometry, hair, and ThinkingParticles. It also supports both animation and single frame distributed rendering in Team Render, allowing the use of all computers in a local network to speed-up Arnold rendering. Third-party plugins TurbulenceFD and X-Particles are natively supported, allowing artists to render high quality smoke, fire, and particle effects with fully interactive feedback. Other features include volume rendering with OpenVDB, a node-based material editor and a comprehensive list of shaders and utilities, including vertex maps and per-face materials.
Solid Angle SL is the technology company behind the Arnold rendering software, with offices in Madrid and London and customers throughout the world including Framestore, DreamWorks, ILM, Sony Pictures Imageworks, MPC, The Mill, Mikros Image and Rising Sun Pictures. Arnold was designed from the ground up to efficiently raytrace the complex geometric datasets required for feature-length CGI animation and big budget visual effects, while at the same time simplifying the pipeline, reducing the number of passes, minimizing storage requirements and greatly enhancing interactivity for lighting artists.
